Wildberger quits General Assembly for Buchanan County post

Another special election will be held for another vacancy in the General Assembly. Governor Jay Nixon has appointed State Representative Ed Wildberger, a St. Joseph Democrat, to serve as Buchanan County Recorder of Deeds.

Wildberger, a St. Joseph firefighter before entering politics, was first elected to the Legislature in 2002. The Governor has called a special election for February 2nd of next year to fill the Missouri House vacancy in District 27.

Two special elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd - both in St. Louis - one to fill the vacancy created when Senator Jeff Smith resigned and the other to fill an opening resulting from Representative Steve Brown stepping down.  Both lawmakers were involved in illegal activity.
