Blue Books from years gone by available online
As we await next week's unveiling of the 2009-2010 Blue Book ... Secretary of State Robin Carnahan's Office has placed more than 40 Blue Books from years gone by into the Missouri Digital Heritage Initiative website. That means they're available online.
The Blue Book, printed since 1878, is the Official Manual of the State of Missouri. It's published every two years by the Secretary of State's Office. You'll find all kinds of information in the Blue Book ... from photos of state elected officials ... to historical essays ... to salaries of all those working for the state.
That's right, you can find out that the guy down the street who works half as much as you do makes twice as much money.
Anyway, all the Blue Books from 1878 to 2000 will be available, online, once the work is completed. And the current edition of the Blue Book comes out next Tuesday.
